Simple Turkey Chilli Recipe
I was checking out some turkey chilli recipes on youtube and found this really simple, yummy turkey chilli!
Chilli Recipes
I rarely use beef chunks in my chilli recipes. It's not so much a preference, I just end up using ground beef a lot. I noticed this, because I had chilli at a friend's house back in July and her chilli recipe called for chunks of beef. Anyway, enough rambling...
This was the first of many chilli recipes I would whip up. I remember I had a craving for chilli and ran out of the "canned stuff." I had never made chilli before, although I know the basic ingredients were beef or other mature meat, and chilli peppers. I had chilli powder, some jalapenos and other spices, and two pounds of frozen beef. I honestly had no idea what I was doing at the time, but it actually turned out to look kind of like one of the average chilli recipes. It was a delicious cooking experiment and the beginning of an era for me, trying out different chilli recipes!
Be warned! Although I thoroughly enjoyed this chilli recipe, you might want to tweak it to suit your tastes.
Ground Beef Chilli Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs. lean ground beef
- 1 large can of crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 4 large jalapenos, sliced
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 1 can of mixed beans
- 2 diced garlic cloves (didn't use it since I had someone who didn't like garlic, but I would definitely have added this)
- 3 teaspoons ground cumin
- 3 teaspoons paprika
- 3 teaspoons of chilli powder
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil (approx.)
- a few pinches of dried oregano
Instructions:
1. Boil beans until cooked and set aside. If using dried beans, soak overnight.
2. Brown green pepper, jalapenos, onions, and garlic in oil.
3. Add ground beef. Add cumin, paprika, chilli powder and oregano, and cook beef until brown.
4. Add crushed tomatoes. Mix and put stove on low to medium heat.
5. Let simmer for 90 minutes, stirring and adding water when chilli begins to stick.
6. Taste periodically and adjust seasonings to your liking.
7. About 15 minutes before it's done, add the beans and mix them in thoroughly.

Chilli recipes for lazy students! Watch these two chemistry students cook up a really simple chilli recipe. For this chilli recipe they just used ground beef, chilli peppers, beans, and tomato sauce. Ramen might be cheaper, but it doesn't hold a candle to this stuff! ;)
